Soft-Tissue Laser

Soft-Tissue Laser

The soft tissue laser has a wide range of benefits for general dentistry. The laser helps to speed up healing time, decrease bleeding and produces very little post-operative care.

These include:

1. Gingivectomy – sculpting of the gum line and reducing hypertrophic (excess) gum tissue.

2. Simple biopsies of Soft Tissue lesions.

3. Crown lengthening - trimming back the gum to increase the length of the tooth.

4. Frenectomy – removal of the small fold of soft tissue in the middle of the upper lip or beneath the tongue. Sometimes performed for orthodontic purposes.

5. Periodontal procedures – for treatment of some inflammatory or infected gum conditions.
